The water sector requires extrusion solutions designed to ensure long-term reliability, operational continuity, and consistent product quality — essential elements for water distribution and management networks. Bausano develops extrusion lines dedicated to the production of pipes for drinking water, sewage networks, civil and industrial drainage, and drainage systems, working with smooth or structured pipes across a wide range of diameters. Each solution is configured according to the final application, ensuring dimensional control, melt uniformity, and process stability even in continuous, high-volume production, where consistent performance is a primary technical requirement.

Extrusion Technologies for High-Performance Water Pipes

To meet the diverse needs of the water sector, Bausano uses single-screw and twin-screw extruders, selected based on the material processed, pipe diameter, and required output. E-GO single-screw extruders are used to process polyolefins such as PE and HDPE, ensuring high output rates, stability over prolonged production cycles, and consistent quality of the extruded material, even on large-diameter pipes.

MD parallel counter-rotating twin-screw extruders and E-ON conical twin-screw solutions are dedicated to processing PVC, a material that requires accurate thermal control and uniform plasticization, even in the presence of mineral fillers or recycled material. The various configurations cover output ranging from a few hundred up to over 1,000 kg/h, ensuring reliability and process repeatability in the most demanding water applications.

Thermoplastic Materials for Water, Pressure, and Drainage Networks

Bausano's extrusion lines are designed to process the main thermoplastic materials used in the water sector, each selected according to its final application. PVC is widely used for rigid pipes intended for non-pressurized drainage and supply networks, thanks to its dimensional stability, chemical resistance, and durability. PE and HDPE are instead used in pressurized water distribution networks for their corrosion resistance, flexibility, and long-term reliability, making them suitable for underground installation as well.
Compared to standard PE, HDPE offers greater pressure resistance and better long-term tightness. PP is used in technical components and systems where rigidity, thermal resistance, and lightness are required. The flexibility of Bausano's solutions allows the process to be adapted to different formulations, maintaining measurable performance and consistent quality.
