ABS extrusion

ABS is an amorphous polymer with an opaque yellow-white color, although there are some recently developed types of ABS with a good degree of transparency. Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) is a terpolymer composed of acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene.

It is a light, strong, rigid, and resilient thermoplastic material. Like many plastic polymers ABS can be processed through injection molding or Extrusion.

ABS can also be produced in different formulations to suit a wide variety of applications. With a Bausano Extruder it is possible to produce ABS technical profile, for example utilizing a E-GO single screw extruders.

Acrylonitrile provides hardness, rigidity and chemical and heat resistance, while styrene makes ABS workable, bright and durable. Finally, butadiene provides resilience and strength. By mixing the three monomers, the properties of ABS can be modified to make it more suitable for the product.
