Screw design
The screws used for the compounds must have a suitable
length/diameter ratio (L/D) according to the specific plastic recipe and consist of feeding,
compression and metering zone. The screw design is
essential to obviate processes of excessive mechanical stress of the material which might lead
to degradation of the molten compound.
Degassing system
The degassing system removes any gas
produced during the extrusion stage or contained in the starting compound.
Extracting the gas from the molten material therefore prevents the occurrence of
defects in the granules such as “air bubbles”.
Granulation head
The granulation head has a special design to maximise the flow and prevent any
"dead point" where the material might stand and burn.
The granulator is fitted with a ferrule that evenly distributes and accelerates
the material in the collector, before exiting through the drawplate.
Screen changer
Designed to naturally fit
into the filter section and the other system components,
it guarantees the optimisation of the flow channels, stability and continuity,
excellent temperature control and automatic filtration with independent movement of each plate.

designed for the re-granulation of post-industrial
consumption material, especially PP and
ABS.
The customer also requested a further later test with glass fibre reinforced
ABS.
The final result was influenced by the dispersion and by the percentage of filler in the starting material.
The plant, especially designed for these needs, was able to process not only the recovered
PP and the waste ABS,
but also the glass fibre reinforced material with excellent performance.
The line was designed with volumetric dosers for metering the raw material, with a degassing system
for stripping volatile substances – formed during melting – and enabled better processability of the
material and better technical/quality features on output.
The line also includes an automatic filter with operating pressure
up to 600 bar,
an extrusion head with 16 holes,
a cooling tank instainless steel,
a dryer and a
cutter.
The production target was widely achieved,
re-granulating over 200 Kg/h.
Plastic flakes and granules after crushing are conveyed directly into the
E-GO R single-screw extruder, through an
appropriate forced feeding system.
In the process, volatile substances and moisture are removed via a
degassification system fitted with high-performance pumps in applications with
presence of vapours in extraction.
The extruded mass is then filtered through appropriate systems and conveyed to the granulating head.
The recovery line is completed with liquid ring cutting or immersed cutting.
All that is made possible thanks to the Bausano E-GO R
technology which ensures complete reintegration of the processed waste material into the production process.
Constantly maintaining precision and speed combined with the advanced
design of the screw ensures the highest quality level of the output.
A single-screw extruder specifically designed to gently melt
