The process is continuous and begins with raw material in pellet form, which is melted, homogenized, and pushed through a circular die that defines the pipe's diameter and wall thickness.

HDPE Pipe Extrusion Process Explained

The process begins by feeding HDPE pellets into the extruder’s hopper. From there, the material enters a heated barrel, where a rotating screw conveys it forward. Through a combination of heat and mechanical shear, the polymer melts and becomes a homogeneous mass suitable for shaping.

The molten material is then forced through an extrusion head equipped with a circular die, which forms the pipe wall. The pipe is then pulled by a haul-off unit, cut to predefined lengths, and finally stacked or coiled, depending on the diameter.
