Extrusion solutions for telecommunications infrastructure and networks
Extrusion Lines for Telecommunications Infrastructure
Telecommunications infrastructure requires extrusion systems designed to ensure cable protection, ease of installation, and long-term reliability. Bausano offers extrusion lines used for the production of smooth and corrugated ducts, cable trays, and protective pipes intended for telecommunications and energy networks. These products are used as ducts for fiber optic and electrical cables, both in underground installations and in exposed applications. In this context, the quality of the internal surface, the low friction coefficient, and constant control of diameter and thickness are decisive factors in facilitating cable insertion and reducing time and critical issues during installation. Compared to solutions made with less controlled processes, Bausano lines ensure greater product uniformity and process stability even in continuous production.
Bausano Extruders for the Production of Telecom Pipes and Ducts
For the telecommunications sector, Bausano uses single-screw and twin-screw extruders, selected based on the material, pipe geometry, and required output. E-GO single-screw extruders are used to process PE, HDPE, and PP, materials widely used for telecom pipes thanks to their flexibility and mechanical strength. These solutions ensure stable flow, homogeneous melting, and smooth internal surfaces, with output that can reach several hundred kg/h, depending on diameter and line configuration.
MD parallel counter-rotating twin-screw extruders and E-ON conical twin-screw solutions are dedicated to processing PVC, a material that requires accurate thermal control to maintain constant mechanical and dimensional properties. This technology is particularly suited to the production of cable trays, corrugated ducts, and protective pipes, even with filled formulations, ensuring impact resistance, process stability, and reduced scrap and downtime.
Materials and Applications for Telecommunications Networks
Bausano's extrusion lines are designed to process the main thermoplastic materials used in telecommunications infrastructure, each with specific characteristics depending on the application. PVC is widely used for pipes and ducts thanks to its light weight, impact and abrasion resistance, and insulating properties, which make it suitable for protecting electrical and telecom cables. The smooth internal surface ensures a low friction coefficient, allowing easier cable flow compared to alternative solutions. PVC also offers chemical resistance to acids and alkalis, self-extinguishing behavior with an ignition point above 450 °C, and long-term stability, contributing to infrastructure safety.
PE and HDPE are used for telecom pipes intended for underground installation thanks to their flexibility, mechanical strength, and durability in aggressive environments, making them suitable even for complex routes. PP is used in cable trays and technical components where higher rigidity and thermal stability are required. Bausano's solutions support production compliant with the main industry standards for telecommunications and energy networks, ensuring consistent quality, process traceability, and efficient use of resources, in line with sustainability requirements.
