Over more than 80 years of activity, Bausano has built deep expertise in processing thermoplastic materials, thanks to applied research, laboratory testing, and rheological analysis conducted in-house. This experience is reflected in the design of plants capable of efficiently and continuously processing a wide range of materials: rigid and plasticized PVC, PE (LD, MD, HD), PP, ABS, PMMA, EVA, TPU, as well as biocomposites and post-consumer regenerated materials. Bausano lines are configured to ensure compatibility with technical additives such as stabilizers, plasticizers, anti-UV agents, lubricants, pigments, and impact modifiers, ensuring correct integration into the polymer matrix. The quality of the final product results from careful management of the thermal profile, residence time, and mechanical shear within the extruder.
Fillers and Loads: Functionality Beyond Volume
Through ongoing process optimization and testing on real materials, Bausano has consolidated its expertise in the extrusion of polymers filled with mineral fillers, natural fibers, and functional additives. These elements — such as calcium carbonate, talc, mica, silica, and glass fiber — are essential for modifying the mechanical, thermal, or acoustic properties of the material. Experience gained in the laboratory makes it possible to design extruders tailored to high-filler-content blends, even with complex rheological behavior. In particular, MD series twin-screw extruders offer optimal control over material flow, applied torque, and filler dispersion, ensuring consistent melt quality and dimensional stability even under critical conditions.
